No agreement on economic inequality’s major contributors
More than 40% of Americans feel the tax system, outsourcing jobs abroad, and issues with the system of education all contribute greatly to economic inequality. Many also single out personal factors like life choices and work ethic.
Republicans are more likely than Democrats to single out personal factors as significant contributors to the prevailing economic inequality in the US.
Democrats, on the other hand, are more likely to blame structural barriers such as lack of opportunity, or racial discrimination contribute significantly to inequality.
